Senior Analytical Chemist II
As a Sr. Analytical Chemist, you will develop and validate analytical
methods relating to the sup****t of marketed products. Compile
validation data into comprehensive re****ts. Apply creative ability and
specialized knowledge methods to solving marketed product analytical
problems. You will be responsible for performing investigations into
product and process problems. These Projects may include forensic
studies of consumer complaints and product counterfeiting/tampering.
Projects also involve in-depth investigations into identity of unknown
peaks discovered during product testing.
JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Performs analyses to sup****t marketed products. These projects are
usually limited in scope and typically involve the application of
validated analytical methods to sup****t a specific product issue.
- Originates re****ts in the appropriate written or oral form so that
new ideas or approaches are brought to the attention of appropriate
personnel.
- Identifies and evaluates new approaches and analytical technology,
such as NIR, Raman and Chemometrics, to provide sup****t for PAT and
for QC laboratories. In addition to maintaining familiarity with
relevant literature, maintains contact with instrument vendors and our
users. Develops contacts at customer sites. Prepare re****ts and
technical papers for internal or external presentation.
- Communicates with other departments and sections. Participates in
discussions and meetings for the purpose of exchanging ideas in
relevant areas of interest; can serve as department representative at
program or project meetings. Communicates new ideas and approaches to
appropriate personnel.
- Maintains familiarity with literature and recent advances in
particular fields of interest; acquires knowledge and understanding in
related fields. Establishes and maintains outside scientific
contacts.
BASIC QUALIFICATION
- B.S., M. S. or Ph.D. in Chemistry or related scientific field
- Involved training on analytical techniques, practical knowledge of
operation of different instruments, such as HPLC, GC, IR, and UV.
- 5 - 10 years of experience involving pharmaceutical analysis.
- Forensic and investigation background required.
