A s****-like egg in cool running water- What is it?

by "Timothy Golden BandTechnology.com" <tttpppggg@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jun 17, 2007 at 02:50 PM

In New Hamp****re( northeastern USA) I found an oblong egg about an
inch long and one half inch in diameter laying exposed at the bottom
of a pool of water six inches deep in a spring fed stream. The shell
is much like a turtle or s**** egg. It is a single egg and was exposed
to view. I know it wasn't there a few days ago. Perhaps a skunk has
cached it in the stream? I'd like to figure out what it is. Can it
hatch in the cool water?
