News about the honeybee "dance lanuage" controversy

by "Prickly pear" <rosinbio@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > May 13, 2006 at 03:47 PM

To those interested in the honeybee "dance language" (DL) controversy
which concerns the very foundations of the whole field of animal
(including human) behavior:

In the March & April issues of ABJ (American Bee Journal), there is a
very long 2-part pro-DL article by Smith & Otis, where the authors
revisit the controversy, and delude themselves into believing that the
existence of the honeybee DL has finally been fully satisfactorily
experimentally confirmed. A rebuttal-letter by Wenner & Wells, with an
URL that leads to much more detailed information, is due to be
published in the June issue of ABJ. Another rebuttal-letter by me, with
an offer to e-mail much more detailed information to any one
interested, is due to be published in the July issue of ABJ.
