Position in Evolution of Behavior/Comparative Cognition

Hamp****re College, an independent, innovative liberal arts institution
and member of the Five College Consortium, is accepting applications
for an Assistant Professor of Comparative Cognition/Evolution of
Behavior. Applications are invited from candidates with training in any
of the fields that have contributed to this area of research, including
evolutionary/developmental biology, cognitive ethology, comparative
behavior/psychology, behavioral ecology, evolutionary psychology, and
computational biology.

The position is located in the School of Cognitive Science and has
additional ties to both the biology faculty and a new interdisciplinary
program in culture, brain, and development. Thus, the successful
candidate will have the op****tunity to develop teaching and research
collaborations with colleagues in a broad range of fields, including
anthropology, computer science, ecology, genetics, linguistics,
mathematics, microbiology, molecular biology, neuroscience, philosophy,
and psychology. Active research in sup****t of teaching and an interest
in assisting students with their own independent research projects is
expected.

Position begins July 1, 2006. Review of applications begins December 1,
