Subject: Back from moving and there goes my van too!

Hi All,
We finally got all moved in, now we only have to get settled
in (easier said than done, apparently <G>). The dogs are
really enjoying the acreage and even Emma, who is our resident
couch cu****on in a dog suit has taken to flying through the
pasture at outdoor time.
She's also not contained by the fencing we have here (Mini
Dachsie) so she is relegated to the flexi, which irritated
her at first, but she's dealing with the indignity in exchange
for walks with all those wonderful smells :)
On a less positive note, I went by the "old house"
yesterday to pick up a last load of linens and clothes
I'd left and on the way home I was rear ended by a
huge dump/trash type truck (it was a business that
cleans up construction, etc. debris)
and I fear that my van was totaled :( Matt - Here's two
thumbs up to my Windstar, because I and Lacy were largely
uninjured despite the severe damage to the rear end.
Lacy was thrown into the wind****eld (not good) but I'm
actually glad she wasn't back where I usually crate the dogs
(cleared for the move) as the cargo area was compromised
(the only hard thing I had back there were some sizable steel
Tonka trucks belonging to the boys - they were considerably
bent) and the area was peppered with window shrapnel
(I even have glass in the front floorboards) :(
Not even sure how I would have gotten her out
without the jaws of life, since there would have
been no way to access the crates except from
the rear....and that was completely crushed.
On the up side, we went straight to the ER clinic who
pronounced her unscathed and they gave her rimadyl (I know)
for a few days to help with any subsequent bruising that might
occur.
Thanks!!
Robin
