The weather is supposed to settle down next week a LOT, but a lotta good
that does people now. The Baraboo area (near the Dells and Lake Delton)
got hit again pretty hard yesterday or the day before.
Madison (close to where I am) has gotten about nine inches of rain since
last Saturday. There are places near Lake Delton and Baraboo that have
gotten over a FOOT of rain since last Saturday, and today is only
Friday. There are dams failing all over the southern half of the state.
Interstate 90/94 is closed from Mauston (in Juneau County, not too
terribly far from the Dells area) to Madison, and there are countless
other road CLOSURES as well, because of all the flooding. The state
emergency management folks have been urging folks ALL DAY today to stay
home if you don't need to go anywhere (probably because they don't want
them venturing to the Dells/Lake Delton area to check out the damages).
It's not a good situation at all.
