I think if anything the bird is really stressed out.  I realize the
advice is a little late but I'll just mention it anyways.

When bringing two birds together you want to start off by putting them
in separate cages and having them gradually get to know the other
one.  The bird that you found could have just been a parakeet by
itself so it might not understand what the other budgie is.

I would suggest doing some research into what they eat, do, etc.  That
way your a little more prepared in looking after birds.  They are
allergic to certain things as well and have sensitive lungs and
stomach.

Although they are $19.99 at most stores they are very intelligent and
should probably be treated just as good as any million dollar pet.
