You are making radical assumptions Alex.  The Do***entary discusses not 
government sponsored EVs rather vehicles produced here in the USA at a 
reasonable cost (hell double standard would be reasonable these days). 
The 
production was not curtailed due to cost issues rather the long term loss
of 
profit from both oil based economics and the replacement/repair 
industry.......
