I have a single female lovebird. Since beginning of May she only
wants to be in her snuggle pouch and has stopped being vocal. I
realize this is nesting behavior and I have not let her get to paper
and have made sure she gets at least eleven hours darkness every night
to prevent her from laying eggs. She is out of the cage with me for
at least 4 hours every day and usually enjoys it, but now she will
hardly come out of the pouch. No problem, but is this unhealthy? My
instinct is that this behavior will pass but want to make sure as she
is violating the first rule as I understand it that a vocal bird is a
healthy bird and she is so much less vocal these days. Thanks for any
advice. Mimi
