Cockatiel will not poop in his cage

by Ken <wa3kf@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > May 8, 2008 at 11:51 AM

This is a strange one. This is our second cockatiel. Our first lived
22 years. Anyway, this one will not do his business in his cage. If we
go out for 7 or 8 hours, he holds it until we get back and then wants
out badly so he can go! Now I would hope that sooner or later he would
go, but I hate the fact that he is holding it in when we are not
there. So any ideas on how to break this? I am assuming that he is
treating the cage as a nest and does not want to mess it? We re going
to move him to a new and bigger cage soon, although this one is
adequate. He is about 10 months old and is working on the completing
his first molt.

Thanks,
Ken
