I doubt that anyone is in a better position than you are to determine
where
your market exists, and what your market wants. Spend a bit of time doing
some guerilla market research: talk to other breeders, go to bird shows,
look in the newspaper classifieds, visit the pet shops which sell birds.
If
your marketing plan includes the ****pment of birds, then spend time
looking
at the various on-line enthusiasts sites and on-line bird-for-sale
classifieds. Develop a simple survey tool for the purpose of asking
potential buyers what they're in the market for.
Just off-the-cuff, think about this: If you are concerned about Rainbow
Lorikeet poo, is that a negative for a potential buyer as well? Is that a
characteristic that is a negative in moving your product inventory?
Just a note: I know nothing about you, your competence in caring for
birds,
and whether or not you have a high moral and ethical standard in how you
treat birds. I am merely answering the question from a marketing
standpoint;
and in that regard, selling birds shares the same basic laws of marketing
as
selling french fries or a Land Rover. The difference is, however, that it
is
impossible to be cruel, or inhumane to an inventory of french fries or
Land
Rovers.
