LOL TREES?  Ever see a horse hit a tree wearing tack? The tack gives---
and rips before the tree falls. Surprises me she did not run to the
other horses too.

I'm glad you are okay, and it must have been a slow walk back to the
barn for you. :(

Had a similar horse incident in '74, horse and I went in a creek,
horse came out without me, and I had to walk the entire way home
soaking wet. We slipped on rock under water, we both with down and
under!  Horse ran a mile home, and was eating in a neighbor's lawn.
The neighbor had been mowing when Ginger sauntered to him. He had her
by the reins, which had not broken! Miracles do happen. :)  I also
don't do deep water anymore!  AT least English reins are always in a
circle and most of the time stay on the horse's neck. Saddle? That's
a  tough one, but I have seen leathers and stirrups ripped off English
saddles, and flaps torn beyond repair.
