OT: Neighbours

by Splash <s_pike44@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jul 8, 2008 at 01:50 PM

My neighbour just left a message on my machine that he wanted my dog
confined. Odie has a thirty foot lead that "yes" allows her access to
his property.

Until a month ago she had NO restraint. Now it's tie on ALL the
time. We live rurally and it was a no brainer. She is an INDOOR dog
and just goes out to do her business but last month in prep for her
staying with my parents we introduced her to a 30 ft. lead. Odie is
good with it.

As most of you know around this time she developed a siezure
disorder. She's on two pills a day and now tied is on when she goes
out. To put it graphically I watch her "output".

Some of the side effects of her meds are increased appetite and
increased thirst. As she gets no scraps and is fed only once a a day
I cannot monitor her appetite. But she helps herself to the toilet
whenever she wants!!!

The result is that I watch her very carefully. In two weeks I'll
need to bring her back in for bloodwork to monitor her Pheno levels.

I actually KNOW she is not the one pooping on his lawn! Twice a day a
stray comes up to mark his territory.

This is a no win situation isn't it? The Neighbour and I had a
falling out two years ago. I think he is just trying to stir up ****.

I'm trying to keep my cool and not overeact. My friend suggests I
"pooperscoop" any poop on his lawn to avoid further problems even if
Odie is not to blame.

I KNOW she is not because I watch her EVERY morning and she poops on
MY lawn despite having the tie on ability to poop on his!

My friend says to ignore him and scoop strays poop to avoid problems.
They have their own small housepet dog. I wish that made me feel
better but I actually worry about them "hurting" Odie to make a
point.

They aren't real "animal people".
