That's the one we have used for several years. Basically the horses
do not like them, and my laminitic chub will go and face the corner of
a wall when she sees me coming with it. Correct fit adjustment is
im****tant when you put them on as they need some clearance at the
bottom. Boo is on to her third Best Friend as she will make the hole
in the bottom bigger day by day so that she can get more grass. And
you need to introduce them to the muzzle and keep them on a lead line
with it on for awhile as they can get panicky if they haven't worn one
before, but the adjustment is quick if you stand with them and let
them graze with it for a while.
Don't do what I did with our young QH's a few years ago. I decided
they too should have grazing muzzles as the grass was lush that year.
I put grazing muzzles on the two senior QH's and let the young ones
watch figuring they would see it wasn't such a horrible thing. Then I
popped a muzzle on each of the young QH's, and let them go in the
front pasture. They panicked and started running at mach ten. Then
the two older ones thought there much be something dangerous happening
too so they started to run too. We had five horses going mach ten
through the trees, over top of the little trees, bucking, rearing etc.
(The TB Polly who was without a muzzle joined the fray too). We had
cars stopping at the front asking if we needed help! It was a sight
to behold as the young ones were running in panic, and were damned
hard to catch as a consequence. So please hand graze your horse with
it first. They do work well, but we don't have any horse that doesn't
dislike them.
