Step...

OK, from several of your suggestions, I've really started to use a command
to let Comet know she's got something to step up/down for.

I've used "Step" for this, which I've used before with her. Going in or
out
of the barn, there is anywhere from 1-3 inches of step for the concrete
aisle...There are "pads" out side each end that are about 1-2 inches lower

than the aisle and the exit to walk to the arena steps down about 2-3
inches
to the ground. Comet does sometimes "catch" her toe going in or steps
oddly
on the edge if she's not paying attention.

I've been consistently saying "step" to her and slowing her a tad and it's

already working. Today, each time I said step, she slowed herself just
that
tiny bit and seemed to pay more attention to where she placed her feet.
She's smart and caught on right away that me saying that means there is
something to watch for.

When we are riding on uneven terrain, I've also said to her "mind your
feet"
and I swear she does! But that's not new...I've always done that with
her...And she usually stops tripping! ;-)

Anyway, this seems to be getting her attention and I hope to get a chance
to
take her on another trailer ride soon and I'll give this a try.

Thanks for the advice. JJ
