You were answered well for the information given and the perceived 
understanding of the situation. How accurate or not that was is the
problem 
of usenet, and not people;s response to it.
If your post and the responses to it mean that you or any of the hundreds
of 
people who might fall across this thread in years to come will respond 
quicker to a potential founder then you have done innumerable other horses

great service.

To be honest when I read your first post I was expecting a litany of

" VET !!!  NOW !!!! "   posts

and if it had been someone whos posting history had not lead folks to 
understand that you had a reasonable understanding of veterinary medicine 
and equine care I suspect that is exactly what would have been posted.

Would you rather that no one here cared about HRH and let you make a 
potentially fatal mistake?
I suspect not, which is why you posted in the first place. ;)

Stick around, please, I am sure I am not the only one who likes to hear
