A "sticker" or "mud calk" is a hind shoe that has a single blade calk 
across the web of the shoe at the lateral heel. They're usually used in 
heavy going and/or on horses prone to interfere because a lateral calk 
tends to widen the anterior ****tion of leg swing on most horses.
