My first thought was laminitis.  But surely your farrier would have picked

up on that.  I haven't seen a horse so sore after shoeing he refused to
get 
up or refused to walk.  Is your grass suddenly greener or anything new 
growing in your pasture?  I would call the vet pronto myself.  For peace
of 
mind if nothing else.  If it's laminitis, the quicker treatment starts the

better!  If nothing else obvious presents, have a test done for Cu****ngs 
and/or Insulin Resistance.  Laminitis and founder for no apparent reason
are 
a symptom.  The horse doesn't have to have a long curly coat to have 
Cu****ngs.
