We've had at least one to two ruby throats here every day through last
Sunday, October 5. Unfortunately no one has had much chance to look
for them since then. Is anyone else seeing any hummers in the northeast
through mid-Atlantic states?
We still have tons of flowers and the ones we saw recently seemed to
prefer the flowers to the feeder. Feeder is still up and will be
for some time. Last year we had hummers until at least mid October.
And I'm still waiting to see a Rufous here:) There was one fairly
close last year but I didn't hear about it until it had moved on.
We've been having really nice weather lately. It's to be in the mid
70s again this weekend.
Planted a few salvia greggi plants recently and was moving them to
their new location in a wheelbarrow. Next thing I knew the hummers
were at the flowers in the wheelbarrow!
