 From a photographic standpoint, it looks like the breast of this raptor 
got a little over-exposed and the colors may be skewed a little, but, 
more likely the color is the result of the yellow/red color of sunlight 
in the hour before sundown. The lighting seems to be coming from a very 
low angle.

Size is almost impossible to determine since there are no good 
references in the photo and it might be helpful if the OP would post an 
enlarged ****tion of the third image. Despite the inherent problem of 
determining size, this bird looks somewhat larger than a red-shouldered 
hawk to me. It's shape is more suggestive of a bird the size of a 
red-tailed hawk.

This hawk also has a completely brown head. Most red-shouldered hawks 
have a light colored throat which is noticeable in the photos that you 
referenced. Some Red-tailed's have a completely brown head but even so, 
this one is still a head scratcher.
