The location of the 'bay area' is fairly im****tant if you wish 
to ID a bird seen there, and there are parts of the world where 
the term 'bay area' is not instantly associated with San 
Francisco.

Of course it depends which NG you are referring to.

uk.rec.birdwatching is hardly the best NG to assist with ID of a 
bird seen in California, United States of America. Nor is 
rec.pets.birds the most likely NG to produce an ID of a wild 
raptor.

Perhaps someone on rec.birds will be able to help.
