What's blooming in the wild? Is it a good year for wildflowers?

In summer, Anna's typically disburse after nesting and move upslope to 
exploit resources not available at other times of the year. Feeders 
generally can't compete with wildflowers--it's in the birds' genes. Even 
though it's not native, you can't buy a hummer here when the Japanese 
honeysuckle is blooming.
