Managed to retrieve the bottom of one of the syrup feeders--the one I
didn't know came apart for the first 10 or so years I owned it[1]. I
have not a clue what popped it off--it is hard to get apart on-purpose.
Finally tried sticking some little plastic cups (like comes on some
medicine bottles) onto the syrup feeders to see if anybody likes grape
jelly.
A male Rosy Breasted Grosbeak visits the oil seed feeder regularly.
Some Gold Finches stop by every now and again for the Niger seed and the
stuff in the BagOStuff.
Lot of red finches--not yet sure what they are.
Lots of little bitty birds (Chipping Sparrows, I think).
Catbird trying to take over the platform from the Blue Jays, Grackles,
and LBBs. That plan is not working well.
Still only one hummingbird at a time--one used my left ear as one
terminal if his "display" while I was cooking out there the other day.
And of course the Dove couple still comes around, as do some of the
squirrels (have not seen the black one for several days).
And I have not seen any of the turkeys for a week or so.
[1] Conversations here a while back convinced me that I needed to clean
its innards better than I had been because I didn't think it[2] came
apart. So I poked and pried at it, thinking that I would either figure
out how to get it apart, or I would break it and that would settle the
issue.
[2]The bottom says "BPC" and a place name in Tennessee.
