At what point are you spoiling birds?

by me <grammynihart@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jun 30, 2008 at 07:41 PM

We have been busy for the past several weeks working on putting a
huge fountain in our back yard. Why? So the hummers will have water
rippling down at several points to fly through.
We use to have a rain bird going to water the back pasture but it
was an hourly effort to keep it moved. We are hoping that the
fountain will fill that need for running water.
Lanny do you know what they like to go through the water? Is it
because it is so hot and it cools them down? Bored?
They don't bath in the lake. Though we see them down there (when we
are fi****ng) with the swallows catching mosquitos and no see 'ems.
The Fish and Game guy said there are fewer mosquitoes here than in the
city. Whatever works.
Is the word on Perky Pet ready made hummer food, still not as good
as just sugar solution?
