About there days ago I noticed the feeders containing black sunflower
and suet were being depleted with no obvious increase in bird visits.
So I inspected my fancy wire protected feeder one of three and found the
paint was chewed off. Hmm so I added some red pepper to see if it was a
mammal and it was not effective. What was going on some mutant raccoon
or possum?
After setting my Havahart and just catching squirrels and a baby
possum I was at a loss.
Then two nights ago at about 3 am I turned on the outside lights and saw
about 10 or 8 baby rats climbing all over themselves to get to the
feeders.
My response no bird feeding except for one hard to get at. Shot a
stupid one but this is first time in 30 years Rats hit our feeders.
