Hi---sorry to hear of your concern for your bird. No one seemed to
answer you, so I hope it's OK with you that I write.
I've had a very similar recent problem with one of my parakeets. (mine
has similar symptoms, but seems very interested in his seed & spends a
great deal of time on the bottom of the cage.)
A week ago I finally decided to take him to a Vet----I just couldn't
stand worrying any longer & like you, was not finding any answers on the
internet etc. (I had to find a special Avian Vet--& it was close to
$200.00) Apparently the little guy does have a bacterial infection &
I've been giving him medication with a syringe in his mouth (Cipro) 2x a
day for 14 days. (This is difficult as he has never been handled
before!) To be honest, I don't see much improvement & am debating
whether I'll take him back in Tues., as I have to expect another large
bill--which just doesn't seem like a fair amount to me.
I hope not to add to your concern, but this has been my experience.
Sincerely, Bonnie
