How the hell would you know if it got lost? It's just as likely that
some other animal ripped it open and made a meal of it. Or maybe it
flew in front of a SUV and got wedged in the grill. Or that kid down
the street that likes to torture small animals caught it and kept it
alive for a week while torturing it.
