He is named for the phoenix, but he does not go up in flames, at least not
that I have observed.
He has never quite allowed himself to "step up" onto a finger. However, he
will play games with your hand in the cage - swining bells and toys so
they
hit the hand, even coming close enough to touch.
He can imitate the bluejays outside the window, and he does a mean "wolf
whistle".
What a smart bird!
