Got mice odor? Another tip

by "Brian" <nospam@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Feb 11, 2007 at 09:19 PM

I posted a while back with several odor control products I've tried to
control the odor of my five male mice in the bedroom. I would like to
update
some, and add a new one for you to consider.

One item from my last post was a bag of volcanic rocks that supposedly
removed the odor ions, and when ineffective can be recharged by placing in

the sun for a day. The recharge method of placing in the sun is not all it

is made out to be. I've read on these items and found out that most need
to
be heated to very high temperatures (in the neighborhood of 500C or 700C)
to
'recharge' them, and sunlight does not do it. These volcanic rock bags
have
really gone down the crapper quickly after using.

A new item I've started using is OUST Small Space. It is not an air
freshner, it is an odor eliminator as well. It is a typical small bottle
you
find in air freshners, with a white housing to place it in and control air

flow. No batteries or power needed. It "eliminates chronic odors deep down

to their molecules" and "leaves a light and clean scent as it works"

I placed one on top of my mouse house and it is my current favorite odor
eliminator. Unlike the gels, this is slowly and evenly dispersed all over
the air to break down the odor. This is by far the best odor eliminator
I've
come across. Mouse odors are removed I'd guess nearly 100%, and it does
leave a clean scent. I'd highly reccomend anyone pick this up if they have

mouse odor in a room, it's fantastic. It cost about $3.50 or so, and
refills
are similar. Since the unit is not powered, a bottle of oil should last a
very long time. I've been using one for a week now and the level has gone
down about 10% at the most. Very long lasting, great item. I highly
reccomend it for any room you need to remove odors from!
