Hello all. I have had a female mouse, Miko, for about 2 weeks, now.
She's very active, with clear eyes and smooth, healthy fur. She eats
and drinks fine, and loves to run around and climb on toys.
I'm writing after reading mouseluverkerry's thread about her mice that
made "snuffling" noises that she thought were very cute, but then died.
I know that some of her mice apparently had lice, which might have
been part of the problem. But I'm a little worried, now, because Miko
is very vocal. She makes these little sneezy noises all the time. But
she doesn't act like she's sneezing and she doesn't have a runny nose.
Actually, she makes all sorts of little noises. I know that mice
supposedly talk to each other with hypersonic sounds that people can't
hear, but I can definitely hear these quiet, varied little sounds. My
other mice don't make these sounds. Miko makes a sneezy noise most
often when I approach her cage, or when another mouse approaches. She
also makes these tiny, high-pitched noises at times, and barely
perceptable, very low-pitched noises occasionally. When she makes
these sounds, she seems very relaxed and inquisitive. She really
doesn't seem sick.
Should I be concerned?
