Hi folks,
Just popped here for a quick bit of advice if I may ..... Never posted
here
before.
I recently moved home and was in my garage about a week ago with my
partner
sorting some rubbish out and we found a very small little mouse. I left
some
food out for it (Reggie Rat as own rats) and some water. I kept meaning to
get a humane trap and release it back into the wild but I haven't got
around
to it and have been leaving food every night!
I had a skip delivered today to clear all the rubbish, making sure to tell
my Dad to be careful of the mouse! He came back in the house and said "You
better come and see this!" We found 4 babies .... So tiny (cannot be more
than a few days old) no bigger than the tip of my thumb and no fur and
eyes
not open but all their little hearts were beating!
We cleared the garage carefully and left the babies in a box with some
bedding to keep them warm and I did see Mum lurking in the corner so she
was
still around. We have left them all together for now ...........
Now my dilemma .... I will not kill them, and keeping them as pets is not
an
option as I am pregnant and they may have diseases etc! I am attached to
them though and do not want to release them into the wild at such a young
age ....
Shall I keep them until they have fur and open eyes and then release them
all together? (with mum) I am worried they will start breeding again in a
few weeks .... Could be male and female babies!
I'm not young and silly ... I am 30! LOL. Just not sure what to do with
the
poor little mites!
Thanks so much in advance for your help x
