I don't think there are any major differences unless the "pet" mouse was
obtained from a responsible breeder. A good hobby breeder will try to
screen out genetic problems from his or her lines. On the other hand, I
think that the "pet" mice from pet stores are usually just randomly bred
and are differentiated from the "feeders" only by color.
