I've tried everything short of taking the mouse to a vet. My solitude
mouse
is still scratching himself bald and worse to the flesh, and is expanding
to
an even greater area.
I've tried the vegetable oil on him to no avail.
I've got a HotShot No Pest Strip above his house for about a month now.
I've been cleaning his cage weekly.
I've tried making my own food for him from grains, fresh fruit/veggie
occassionally, cereal, etc, to no avail.
I've tried to contact the humane society but they do not offer spayed or
neutered mice, and the one vet they could reccomend wouldn't perform it on
a
female mouse to give him a companion.
I'm at a loss for what to do now. Taking him to a vet is difficult for me
to
do, but it would seem that the veg. oil and pest strip would have killed
any
mites or buggers bothering him, so I dont think a vet would do much good
to
help him with the issue regardless.
I don't want to see him scratch himself to death and cause himself pain.
Aside from going to the flesh in a larger area he's starting to work on
his
other ear.
