breeding mice for s****

by Bernhard Kuemel <spamtrap@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Mar 30, 2006 at 06:14 PM

Hi apm!

I got a python regius from a friend and try breeding fancy mice for
it. It seems to be tricky to control the reproduction rate. I need
about 1 mouse/week so I must separate males from females. However,
mice should not be kept alone and males don't generally get along
well. Sterilizing a mouse is too expensive, I guess.

How about having a different species female as company for my male?
Any recommendations? He had contact with rats and though they
eventually started fighting (the mouse bit a tiny bleeding wound in
the rat) it seems they could get along if they were introduced
carefully.

They ate all but one baby of the first litter, so I separated the
mother and she ate the last one after 2 days.

Maybe I'll just buy mice from the shop if it doesn't work out.

Thanks, Bernhard
