Hi - I wish you luck but you should be prepared for the worst  at 7
yrs old just in case. Isolate the patient from others. It is a good
sign that she is eating something. You don't say how much fluid she
has lost and whether you have replaced it by syringing. You must. 40
mls per day bare min and everything lost must be replaced in addition
to this. It could be a bacterial infection - so an early diagnosis
would be essential plus antibiotics. The best remedy after the
antibiotics would be arrowroot mixed to a soupy paste with water (1.5
mls am and again pm) via a syringe. Alternatively Denes gastric pills
with kaolin, sodium bicarb, liquorice and peppermint oil are very
effective. Immodium melts ( which we use) can be safely given. I
tablet only to be chewed by piggie. Also you can give diocalm for
humans ( half a tab every 8 hours). In the wild, pigs with 'the
scours' seek out shepherds purse and rabbits with the scours seek out
blackberry leaves. Feed only hay and not other veg and be scrupulous
about hygiene or you'll be poorly yourself.
