One of my pigs lasted to almost 7 years - she was incontinent and had
a cattaract on her R eye but perfectly happy for me to feed her on my
knee via a syringe with food and water every night. She was
spontaneously eating and drinking herself but it was a special bonding
ritual that allowed her to know how special she was towards the end.
One morning she had a heart attack ( collapsed and gasping) so I
lifted her out of the cage and cuddled her quietly until she died 5
minutes later.
