Ours do the same thing, two males.  The will lay next to each other
near the divider, rumblestrut along side it sometimes, and steal each
other's food with no problems.  When they are together the smaller
one, Petey like to be close to the big one, Fudgems who likes his
personal space, then the fighting begins..
