marussia passed away this morning

At 8:55 am, our beautiful Marussia passed on. She had been suffering 
from bronchitis for almost 2 years, but thanks to the care of our 
wonderfull vet she managed to live those last 2 years in relative good 
health... until last night. Throughout the entire day she was her usual 
self, asking for treats, eating her veggies, etc. Then just before we 
went to sleep I noticed she wasn't interested in her hay (our piggers 
always get some hay before bedtime). I gave her her medicine and hoped 
this would help her like it always did. But when I came downstairs this 
morning she didn't show any improvement. I wanted to go to the vet, 
called work to take a day off, but we never made it to the vet. I sat 
with her on the couch and she slipped away while I held her. I think 
this time, not even the vet would have been able to help her. She was 
almost 4 years old. This evening we will have a small ceremony in our 
backyard...


My only worry is for Malinka, her best friend. Although there were 3 of 
them (Malinka (male), Marussia and Mika (both female), it always seemed 
like Malinka and Marussia had a stonger connection. They always slept 
side by side, while Mika simply "joined the group". I can only hope 
Malinka will be able to bond with Mika like he previously did with 
Marussia. At least he's not alone.
