It's very early days for a house for your piggies as 'fun' is not on
their agenda yet - it's still a matter of self preservation for them.
They have to be sure of your intentions and nothing is worse for a new
piggie than a curious child!!! as children don't have the empathy to
understand what it feels like to worry about whether they are going to
be accidentally hurt, as a new piggie may well be hurt by an
inquisitive child. Encourage your little one only to handle the piggie
under supervision and when they are sitting down, as many a child will
drop a small animal from a height with fatal consequences. Another way
to bond quickly is to have the piggie on your knee but cover it
loosely with a towel so it can hide its head and face - put your hand
under the towel and stroke it gently offering a piece of carrot or hay
with the other hand. Do this only 'one on one' in a quiet setting for
a few days and then gradually let other family members have a turn.
The animals must only have positive experiences of handling otherwise
you wont gain their trust,
