You just perfectly described what our piggie does!! If he sees me coming
(only because I bring the oranges), he does that funny dance ... we
figured
out that it must be a good thing and now DS brings the oranges in!
He'll also gnaw on the cage (the piggie, not my son) when it's around
"play-time" ... and do that funny dance when he sees that we're letting
him
out to play with DS!!

One lovely sign of happiness in a young piggy is called 'popcorning'
- the animal just suddenly launches itself into the air by a few
centimeters in an excited way (like pop corn bursting open). They
sometimes start to do this if they think food is coming. For example
some pigs can learn to recognise certain trigger sounds like the
fridge door opening or knife chopping sounds and will associate this
with a treat coming. However don't get too excited about their
'intellect' as, lovely as they are, intelligence is not one of their
strong points!!! Your piggy will only popcorn when he has settled and
feels relaxed and safe in your company.
