Well, I did it. I went out and bought 2 more guinea pigs. I have not
name them yet. They are a brother-sister pair. One is a short hair, and
the female is a rough hair. They are mostly black, some white, and a
little cinnamon color. They were born last Christmas Eve. Now that
brings a total up to guinea pigs that I am housing. I put the small
male one with the 2 brothers that I raised from birth about 2 years ago.
And the small female one their sister of the brothers, and another
female that I got later. That's 3 females in one pen and 3 males in one
pen, and the original male that I bought 3 years ago, all by himself.
He is too grumpy. He does not get along with the other males. He has
fought and bit the others and myself because he gets too stress. Their
names are Higgins, Cinnamon, Cap for the males; and Cinba and Peanut
Butter for the females. Now I got to come up with two more names.
Well, the unions of the GP are going okay. It was a little touchy at
first, but they seem to get along okay now. The one problem that I face
now is getting the little ones to eat veggies/fruit, and drink from the
water bottle. while the others are indulging themselves. So I bought
these little ones for $5 a piece at a game bird show for breeders in
Hutchison, Minnesota. The same place I bought 2 others three years ago.
The $5 was a steal, and I was assured that these were not from breeders,
as I experienced before. That 2 GP that I bought 3 years ago, turned
into 5, after one turned out to be pregnant, something I did not know
about. Mommy GP died last February, Her name was Hutch. Well, I guess
I am turning out to be a sucker. I really didn't need these guinea
pigs, but they looked so cute, and I hate to split up a family. So now
I got a real family..7. Thanks for listening to my story. I will keep
you informed.
P.S. Is there a place where we can all share pictures of our family?
