Hi
I tend to agree with Kelvyn. The most pleasure I have ever seen
Guineas get is when you give them a cardboard 'house' to nibble and
'biff' around. They don't like running in wheels in my experience as
they are too timid and reserved. My animals never played with toys
either. What they lack in 'intelligence' they more than make up for
with their affection and dependence on you and also the 'wheeping'
noises when food is around. They love to play in runs in the garden
but Magpies used to fly over the wire and peck them through the mesh -
they just used to sit there and take it bless them! I provided them
with an upstairs wooden part to their cage and one animal must have
fallen whilst I was out, as I subsequently found that she had broken a
front tooth. There was no other way this could have happened as my
'children' are adults and didn't interfere with the animals! They take
pleasure in competing with each other for food but please don't be
tempted to tease them as it is cruel. They have hurt feelings if one
animal gets more food or attention than another. Bye Heather
