As fas as I know, piggies CAN get pregnant if they aren't in heat. But
normally the female won't let the male "do his job" (if you get my drift),
when he shows too much interest, when she isn't in heat. He can sniff her,
clean her ears, clean her eyes, be gentle for her, and she will enjoy all
this attention. But as soon as he wants to mount her, she will let him
know
that she has no interest. She may nip at him, just to make sure that her
message is clear.
Some piggies don't really show, when they are in heat. But the male will
smell if/that she is. I have 4 piggies, 3 girls and a neutered male Rambo
(and boy do I need him to keep some order in the henhouse ;)).
One of the girls, Mysti, simply never shows that she's in heat. Only
because
Rambo sometimes shows some more interest in her than he usually does, I
know
that she is in heat. The other 2 girls on the other hand, show that they
are
in heat very much. Poor Rambo gets seduced, chased and mounted by them
during "those days". They wiggle their butts before his nose and make him
grazy. And the saddest thing is, that these girls are NOT in heat on the
same time. So when the hormones from female number 1 are back to normal,
female number 2 starts seducing/chasing/mounting Rambo. Oh yeah, he really
has a tough life. LOL
When you take your piggies to the vet, I'm not sure if they already can
determine if your female is pregnant or not. But maybe you can discuss the
options with your vet in case she DID get pregnant.
