Me too, I'd hate for Nubbin to be alone for any longer than she has
to. In the meantime she's getting lots of extra cuddles and treats!

Wow, that's really amazing! With Wiggles being so very ill towards the
end, I suspect Nubbin knows that she isn't coming back, as Wiggles
didn't move for that last day. Nubbin DID steal the food I put under
Wiggles' nose (to try and coax her to eat), so she didn't seem to
upset at Wiggles being so ill. Today, Nubbin is pretty much staying in
her house, she comes out for food and drinks, but she's just laying
there mostly, which isn't normal for her. I keep getting paranoid that
she's ill too, but she's fine, just sad.

I wondered if Nubbin might try to mother her new friend, being as
she's still very much a baby. I'm not sure how she'd like another
piggy trying to feed from her nipples though, hehe!

Well, my son wants to call it Wiggles again - I've told him we can't
do that, so I think it'll be one that you've suggested, or Wriggles,
Giggles... :-) I was quite impressed with the petshop too, keeping the
babies a little longer. The lady there said that if the guinea pig was
for outdoors, she'd want to keep it even longer, but was okay with me
taking her on Friday with them being indoors.

I'm glad Wiggles died whilest being held also, We were about to give
her the meds the vet gave to us, but it was obvious she was giving up,
she was convulsing and cold, so we wrapped her in a towel and my
Husband held her close while I stroked her. Then we sat and bawled our
eyes out over her for half an hour! We were just very surprised she
died so young, we were expecting these girls to last for 8-9 years, as
it's what the petshop (different one to where I've just bought the new
one) told us they'd live to.

along?

Thank you, I certainly will! I'm really looking forward to having a
baby again and really hoping Nubbin will accept her as a friend.

I was just looking into playpens for piggies and wondering what the
best solution is. At the moment we use a dog crate which splits in
half, sandwhich the two halves together... it makes a pretty big space
for them, but it's soooo big and heavy to set up (and store) and I'm
not going to be able to do it for much longer (I'm five months
pregnant), so am looking into an alternative... I've seen those panels
that slot together, but wondering what we'd use for flooring and a lid
so the dog leaves them alone... Also wondering where to get the cubes
from at a decent price.

Also thinking about what we can do to give them more floor space in
their cage. We figure we could add a second storey, but wondering how
to do it.

Do you have any suggestions or know of any good websites where we can
get some ideas?
