Hi guys,
Long time no post,
I hope you are all doing well,
I have a question regarding glucosomine/chondroitin/msm pills from costco
500/400/400 that I feed to Loki.
His kibble has glucosamine in it as well.
Loki is 14 years old now and is looking great and looks like he is feeling
great as well.
We just got back from a 6 week trip to china, so my neighbors took care of
him the whole time. Their dog just passed away a few months before we left
so it all turned out very well as we did not have to put Loki in a kennel.
I
prolly would not have gone if kennel was the only option. So.....the
neighbors had experience with an aging dog with hips issues.
About a month before I left, I ran out of the pills above and I had
capsules
of glucos only, so that is what I was giving to Loki for a few weeks,
until,
he started stiffening up and fell down the stairs :(
I immediately went to costco and got the above pills again and continued
with 1 tablet per feeding/day. He did get better. But not to a state of
where I was feeling as good about him as I am now.
These however, were the feeding instructions I gave to my neighbors.
When I got back the other day OMG did Loki ever look GOOOOD!!!!!!!!!
They told me that they started to give him one tablet in the morning,
disguised in wet food hehe, and 2 tablets with dinner, because it seemed
that the 1 tablet per day was not enough for a dog of his size. Loki is 80
pounds.
This is my question, is 3 tablets a day ok for him? 1500/1200/1200.
I have no problems at all feeding him 3 a day because he looks great and
wants to play ball, I'm happy he feels so well, but I still won't play
ball
with the poor guy. Just a lil tug with an old t****rt.
I just want to make sure its ok for his system before I continue any
longer.
Congrats on the awards Sandra!!!

Russell
