Doggie training

by "Grinner" <grinner@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > May 30, 2007 at 05:07 PM

Hi, heres my dog
http://tinyurl.com/36k4kd
a cross kelpie/beagle we believe. Nice dog very active, very loyal loving
and very protective, a good watch dog, who takes unkindly to foxes which
is
good for the chickens' sake.

We got him from the RSPCA animal shelter, we got another dog from there
about 20 years ago. What I've found with both these dogs is discipline
is/was a problem, this one won't stop jumping up on you with his front
paws
and likes to circle you ba****ng his tail aganist you like it's a gesture
of
his owner****p and a battle of wills. The other dog we got from the RSPCA
wouldn't stop jumping on the lounge when unwatched. This one although
de***ed strays a bit, not too far but likes to take himself for swim in
the
dam when not watched. As you can see he likes to sit in the garden chairs.

The only thing which seems to stop him is when you say "where's that
stick".
I don't like hitting him but he's a bit of a worry, and the mention of the

stick seem to be the only way to stop his exuberant nature.if you're
sitting
outside he'll try to jump up and cuddle himself into you. So loving but
he's
annoying when he does it, he's never put his paws up on a small child adn
is
very gentle and good with kids but with adults he tries to be boss.

Anything we can do about his jumping up.
