My cat, the shadow.

My 7 year old neutered, indoor tabby follows me everywhere.  When I am on 
the computer, he has to be next to the keyboard.  At night, he sleeps at 
the foot of my bed. Watching television, in my lap.   If I am not giving 
him attention, I get a gentle paw on the leg, arm, etc.  I am not 
complaining but since this is my first cat it is unexpected.  We have had
7 
years together but he is way more like a dog than a cat.  Am I lucky or is

this more common than I thought?
