Hello,
I am writing to let you know about an innovative and unique horse
event that I believe you and your horse friends will be very
interested in attending: The Voice of the Horse Conference. The live
onsite event will take place on June 30 and July 1, 2007, at Iowa
State University, with a live feed available online during the
conference. In addition, the conference will be available via
streaming webcast from June 30 all the way to August 31, 2007. For
only $35, you can watch, as often as you want and whenever you want,
internationally-known clinicians, trainers, and equine artists, as
well as filmmakers, musicians and authors present stories about their
horse-human relation****ps. In addition, you can hear and see the
acoustic "Horse Legends" concert by Michael Martin Murphey
("Wildfire"), explore the online art exhibit, and share your own
stories of the horse-human relation****p. During the conference, both
onsite and online attendees will collaborate in the final panel
discussion by contributing their own stories for the presenters to
consider before the panel convenes. Be aware that if you want your
stories to be considered for inclusion in the panel discussion by
presenters at the end of the conference, you have to participate in
the live webcast on June 30 and July 1. Stories shared in the
discussion forum after that date may be selected for inclusion (with
permission) in a conference book, but won't be on the forum in time
for conference presenters to read them before the panel meets at the
end of the live conference event.
A key focus will be the impact of the horse-human relation****p on
training, showing, and riding in venues as diverse as backyards and
wilderness trails to therapeutic sessions and show rings. The
conference will also consider the impact of the horse-human
relation****p on human health and well-being by exploring interactions
in which horses have befriended, healed and taught humans, and the
ways these relation****ps have been expressed through art, music, and
literature. Registration is only $35 for the all-inclusive online
package and $379 for in-person attendance
