I don't know what pellets you were using, but many chinchilla owners choose
the Mazuri pellets (available from mazuri, lone star chinchilla, chinworld
and others) and American Pet Diner has a couple different pellets that are
popular with chins.

Lori's thoughts that maybe he is thinking of his previous pain coming from
the pellets might be a factor.

I do know that it's highly suggested that main pellet feed be changed
gradually over time, but in this case maybe just trying a new pellet may
work.

Chinmom may have some ideas too. Amazing you had to put your chinnie under
just to find the tooth problem, but luckily and happily, at least the main
problem has been taken care of.

Tina at American Pet Diner (americanpetdiner.com) is very helpful and
usually has some time to talk on the phone.
