Re: One cat constantly attacking the other

by "Tracy101" <tracy10@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jul 19, 2008 at 10:34 AM

It's the male domination thing. I have had many cats over the years and
have found that if people are going to own more than one cat, it's best if

they're both female. Cats have personalities like people and you also
need
to realize that sometimes personalities simply don't click.

Also, male cats are often ***ually attracted to female even if they are
castrated and the female is fixed. They still desire them and can be
pretty
pesky to the females who get quite annoyed with them and often feel
bullied
and constantly ***ually harassed.

Don't slap your poor cat. He's only doing what's natural in a cat's
world
and it's unreasonable to expect him to behave like a decent "human"
That's
kind of like if you were forced to live on Mars and aliens slapped you for

feeling you should use a toilet for going to the bathroom, when they just
go
anywhere. Your poor cat is likely just very frustrated with all that
female temptation and no access to her when he has now reached the teenage

years and has strong ***ual interest that could be driving him crazy with
lust and her crazy with his attention.

I'm not sure what to suggest for the poor cats except maybe to find a
really
nice loving home for one of your cats - preferably one where the male in
particular, can be the "centre of attention" as male cats so much love to
be.

If you slap your cat for his behaviour, he is probably going to be even
more
likely to feel his domination is threatened, and attack the female twice
as
much. Like all males, he needs to feel loved, very very im****tant, and
appreciated.
